I over heard this thru the Grapevine.
Arrived several months ago. New Director didn't like what it looked like. He wrote a book on the subject. He went in and took out figures. Monies were spent to produce the diorama, and currently it not on display.

My buddy and I were honorably discharged from the United States Military, and had served in various forms of law enforcement on the federal, state, and local levels. As both of us were working as officers for the State of Texas at the time of the occurance that I am writing of, I feel that it was
a legitimate Occupation of a Mexican Fortress.

My compadre and I arrived down in Old Mexico illegally as we did not have proper identification, and we were not going to turn around and...

I have a picture that belonged to my Grandfather that is labeled "3rd Texas Supply Company". He grew up around Dallas and Young counties. Other documents that he had make me believe that this was his unit, and that they drilled at Fort Sill, OK. The photo was probably taken in the late 1920s or early 1930s. Can anyone shed some light onto who this unit belonged to (Division, Brigade, National or State Guard, etc.) I have not been able to find anything mentioning the 3rd Texas...

I am searching for any information regarding the MED DET 1320TR ENGR GEN SV BN. This is what is listed on the honorable discharge papers I received. Other information on the papers: Battles and Campaigns--Eastern Mandates
GO 33 WD 45; Surgical Technical Spc; Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with 1 Bronze Star; Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal. My veteran can tell me he was in Hawaii and Saipan. Any other information regarding his military service will be most appreciated.

I'm looking for information that would help me confirm if my grandfather, Tech Sgt. Jesus L. Trevino, served with the 62nd Engineer Combat Battalion during its building of the Alcan Highway and it actions in the Aleutians. We just got a re-issue of some of his medals from NPRC but they were all campaign ribbons; no personal awards were sent as his records were lost in the St. Louis fire.

Parsons' Brigade and the TXSG

The 19th Texas Cavalry Regiment was formed by Judge Nat. Burford from volunteers in the Dallas area. Col. Parsons own regiment, the 12th Texas Cavalry, came from around the Hill Country area.

Why then is the 19th Brigade of the Texas State Guard called "Parson's Brigade"? Parsons preferred his own much better trained 12th to the much less war-ready 19th and directly commanded the whole Brigade that bore his name barely half of the time it operated in the Trans-Mississippi...

This is for anyone connected with the TMFM. Is there a section on the Republic of Texas Navy? I can fully understand that it may not be a large (or even a medium) display, if for no other reason that it was only active from 1832 - 1845/6 (when Texas joined the Union, the USN took one look at the two to three ships left, and decided that it wouldn't be worth it to even salvage the ships for recycle).
