Is there a list of members I can verify his service? He may have been in the Air Guard instead of Infantry Division. His was Lt. Col. George D. McMorries and possibly stationed at Hensley Field, Grand Prairie Texas and the Pentagon. Ultimately I'm looking a photo of him in uniform for our family records. Thanks, Dan Poynor

If your grandfather served in either the Army or Air Guard from Texas, the Director of Military personnel (J1) may be able to assist in locating some records of your family member.

He mentioned a man by the name of Woodrow Sheehans who was his Cpl. from Somerset, KY. My father is interested in finding more info on Sheehans, ie. location of where died and possibly a connection with any living relatives. Anyone out there able to help me? I'll be checking the board periodically.

Cpl 160 Griffin Ave. Somerset Ky. ; KIA You might try the ABM.gov website to see if there is more info on Sheehan. I didn't see your Grandfather's name in the roster, but there were accidental ommissions. (Sorry second part of this post was about Lt. Col. I'm interested in learning about my father's experience, but I have limited, sketchy information. My Dad's name was Jose G. Aguirre from Nixon, Texas. I believe he served in the 141st, 36th division. He was wounded in the invasion of Italy. Whatever information anyone can provide is appreciated. I travel through Austin regularly. Would it benefit me to visit the museum there and does it provide information for review? Thanks.

Seems that the young men from that area were in the 141st, but I found your Dad's name on page 74 of the roster, and he was in the 142d. Company G, 142d Infantry Aguirre, Jose, Pfc., Gen. Now I know it's the 142nd and it'll be a good start. It seems the 142nd left from NYC. I'm pleased to know that a small town country boy from Nixon got to see the big city before he and his fellow comrades were taken off to war.
