Troopers:

I have recently been contacted by Alvin Cole's grandson, John Kaiser, who is interested in knowing more about the circumstances under which his grandfather died.

We have determined that PFC Alvin Cole was a member of H Troop and was seriously wounded on November 30, 1944, in the fight for the Ormoc Valley on Luzon. He died of his wounds on December 2, 1944.

Since H troop was only activated in mid-October 1944, PFC Cole would have been in the 112th for little more than a month when he died.

If there are any H Troopers out there who knew PFC Cole or who were involved in H Troop fight for the Ormoc Valley, please contact me at gtj0002@unt.edu

Thanks for your time--
