What does MTO mean? |

I have found copies of Papa's discharge papers and in the section titled Wounds received in Action, it has the notation MTO and then 2 dates. The first
date is Jan 22 1944, so I believe it was at Rapido River and the second was June 3 1944 and I am guessing that it happened on the Velletri-Marino Highway on
the way to Mount Alto. My question is: can someone tell me what the MTO stands for? Thank you!

Donna,

That makes so much sense to me now! I knew ETO was European, and that PTO was Pacific, but for the life of me, couldn't figure out MTO. Doesn't help much that I'm Canadian either....up here MTO means "Ministry of Transportation of Ontario"! Thanks again! Donna |
