For all of you that have not checked out the "New Master" plan that Mr Hunt has posted please do. He is getting rid of the Lost Battalion, and 36th
Galleries. There is an agreement for both of these galleries to be separate from the rest of the museum.
In the case of the 131st FA WWII they worked on the Japanese railroad in Burma area. Money was donated by B Tharp, son of the commanding officer, and a former USMA grad, class of 1946.
In the case of the 36th Gallery, an agreement was also signed to have separate area(gallery) . The 36th Inf.Div National Museum Foundation purpose was to raise monies in order for the gallery to be maintained. This gallery should be maintained as a stand alone gallery and solely dedicated to the men who fought in WWi, and WWII, not the ""CURRENT 36th" division. One of the reason the 49th armoured was reflagged in 2004 was because the 49th had no war credits and the 36th did,
So in light of all the discussions that are occurring with the Diorama stuff you should be aware of the above and the fact that it isn't right for Mr Hunt to tear down the walls.
There is also limited fire exits. I plan to address that issue with the local fire department.
