Would like to get any data on the 6th TX Cav Rgt which was Mustered on 12 Sep 1861 and Released May 1865. Specific interest in Companies K & I, but will collect all information and data with intent of placing info at U of H Confederate Journals and other sites that would benefit the 6th. This little bit might help, I hope:
"Adams, Augustus Harrison Capt. Augustus Harrison Adams departed this live at his home in Lyons March 29, 1911. He was born in 1828 in Ark. "At the beginning of the civil war he entered the confederate army and served as captain until the close." - www.rootsweb.com/~txburle...uaries.htm He was listed as serving in Co. K, 6th TX Cav Reg "Stone's", and I understand he was the one that replaced Throckmorton as CO? I think on the rolls for Co. K he was simply listed as A.H. Adams, and IIRC was enlisted until Throckmorton's resignation in 1863. I'm trying to find out more about him as well, as he was the eldest brother of my GGGGrandfather. Any info on the battles that Co. K participated in would be helpful as well. www.orthodoxresurgence.co.uk
