Battle of Gonzales- list of who was there |

Hi, I just found this interesting forum. I am a sixth generation Texan and supposedly my ancestor, Captain Jacob Eberly, participated in the Battle at
Gonzales. I wondered is there is a list someplace of all who were there? Thanks for any help someone might offer to find out.

I checked with LTC Villareal who is our informal historian on all things for early Texas history and this is his reply:
There is a book that was supposed to be published with a list of documented participants, non-documented participants and suspected participants. It has been several months since I have heard from the
author and the last I heard was there were some stumbling blocks to publishing. I will see if what if any progress has been made.

Thank you so much! I would love to see this documented. My ancestor was Captain Jacob Eberly. He came to Texas in 1832 and his wife, her brother, and infant
child died after they came. There were several other children, one of whom was Julia Eberly Martin, who I am descended from. Her husband was Dr. James Fischer
Martin. I'm curious if he was related to the Martin connected with the Gonzales battle. He was originally from England. Captain Eberly married Angelina
Peyton Eberly after the war and she is famous for the Archives War. There is now a statue telling her story in downtown Austin and also a monument plaque to
her in Indianola.
